Improving literacy levels and reading comprehension remain one of the key strategic deliverables for Maskew Miller Learning.

Developing reading-for-comprehension from an early age, unlocks critical thinking, creative processes and imagination. These are some of the most fundamental skills in early childhood development. 

We continue to develop, create and publish readers in a fun and original format. When young learners have fun developing their reading skills, they not only fast-track their reading developmental level, but they also improve their reading speed and general vocabulary. 

Maski Adventures is an original reader series developed and published with Maski®, our ultimate AI teaching and learning assistant, as the main character.  

This project is a storytelling series aimed at introducing young learners to coding, robotics, and digital concepts in line with the CAPS curriculum. At its heart is Maski®, a lovable AI tool who is on a journey to learn, grow, and help others. The stories should be engaging, relatable, and infused with warmth and humour, creating a sense of wonder and connection for children.

Maski® is not just an AI tool but a friend, mentor, and sometimes a bit of a clumsy companion, learning alongside the children and showing that even the smartest tools can make mistakes, and that’s perfectly fine.

Objective of this reading series

The objective of Maski Adventures is to make digital concepts feel magical and accessible while fostering empathy, curiosity, and creativity in young learners.
